If you live in the Spokane area and are in the market for a gun safe, you’re likely wondering, “Where’s the best place to buy gun safes in Spokane, WA?”

There are various factors to consider when choosing where to shop for a gun safe. Some questions you’ll want to ask include:

  • What Spokane gun safe retailers have gun safes in stock?
  • Who will give you the best deal?
  • Which stores carry the best gun safes?
  • Which safe and vault store can handle the delivery and installation of your safe?

More than 30 years ago, we founded NW Safe because we wanted to provide the best service and selection. It’s something we take pride in, and we’re confident that if you visit our Spokane safe and vault store, you’ll discover just what makes us unique.

But we also believe that when you’re investing in a gun safe that can be passed down from generation to generation, it’s worth doing your due diligence. The following outline shows our fellow gun safe and vault stores in the greater Spokane area.

10 Places to Buy Gun Safes in Spokane

1. Wing Sales

Wing Sales was opened in 1985. In addition to being a Liberty Gun Safe dealer, they specialize in selling stoves and fireplaces, including chimneys, inserts, and accessories. Their website can give you a brief idea of the products they offer, but all purchases need to be made in-store or over the phone. Their spacious showroom is open six days a week, Monday through Sunday.

Additionally, they offer chimney sweeping, installation, and fireplace/stove maintenance.

Huber Trailer Sales

2. Huber Trailer

Family-owned and operated, Huber Trailer Sales was founded in 1986. As the name would suggest, they offer an extensive selection of new and pre-owned trailers. Additionally, they have a well-respected parts and service department for those needing repairs.

Additionally, they have a rotating selection of used gun safes for sale in their warehouse. The collection often includes Ironworks Gun safes, Rhino Gun Safes, and Kodiak Gun Safes. Purchases need to be made over the phone or in-store. They are open six days a week, Monday through Saturday.

3. Safe and Vault Store

The origins of Spokane’s Safe and Vault Store date back to 1902. In their earliest days, they specialized in selling and servicing small safes, in addition to providing key and locksmithing services. Today, Safe and Vault Store has embraced modern technology with a robust online store that offers a wide range of gun safes, home safes, vault doors, and gun safe accessories.

The Safe and Vault Store offers in-person shopping at their brick-and-mortar location Monday through Friday. They will attempt to fulfill any delivery and installation needs through a list of third-party delivery and installation professionals in your area.

4. Home Depot

A national chain you’re likely familiar with, Home Depot carries nearly everything needed to do home repairs and upgrades. Additionally, the Home Depot Gun Safe department offers a selection of gun safes ranging from small to extra large.

They keep very few gun safes in stock, so your best bet is to peruse their selection online. Most Home Depot gun safes are Tracker Safes and STACK-ON safes. They offer free in-store pickup and free curbside delivery. There are two Home Depots in the greater Spokane area. Both stores are open seven days a week.

Their robust website allows for easy comparison between multiple gun safes. Free curbside shipping is provided for nearly all gun safes. Any safe over 150 pounds is delivered by a third-party Freight Carrier and placed outside the home. In-garage delivery may be eligible for some customers for an extra fee. (Restrictions on the surface type and slope apply. Additionally, the in-garage delivery does not include removing the safe from the pallet or anchoring the safe to the ground.)

6. Sportsman’s Warehouse

Founded in 1986, Sportsman’s Warehouse is a national chain. They have two stores in the greater Spokane area, one in Spokane and one in Spokane Valley. Each store carries various supplies to support passions ranging from hunting and fishing to camping, backpacking, and shooting.

From small pistol safes to extra-large rifles safes, Sportsman’s Warehouse sells a wide variety of gun safes. They carry popular brands such as STACK-ON, Vaultek, Liberty gun safes, and Browning safes.

Their stores are open seven days a week. However, most of their safes are only available for purchase online with in-store pick-up.

While their website is under construction, it does report that they are open seven days a week and that all sales are delivered from the company’s warehouse in Springfield, MO. Additionally, their sister store in Sumner, Washington, has a Facebook page that is updated occasionally.

The Steel Mountain Safe Co. website is under construction. Currently, you can view their hours of operation and addresses.

8. DICK’S Sporting Goods

DICK’S Sporting Goods is a national chain store founded in 1948. They carry an extensive selection of gear for outdoor enthusiasts, including those passionate about hunting. They have two locations in the greater Spokane area, including one in Spokane and one in Spokane Valley.

Their featured brands include Barska, SnapSafe, Fortress, and Hornady. Some safes are occasionally available for in-store pick-up. However, the majority can only be purchased with direct delivery. 9. North 40 Outfitters

North 40 Outfitters is a growing retail chain with 12 locations throughout Idaho, Montana, and Washington. They specialize in carrying a wide array of outdoor and sporting goods for those who hunt, fish, hike, and farm. They carry a little something for everyone ranging from tiny trucks and tractors to guns and gun safes.

For gun safes, they primarily sell a limited selection of Liberty and Kodiak gun safes. All gun safes are only available for curbside and in-store pickup at one of their locations.

10. Cabela’s

Cabela’s is an international retail chain that merged with Bass Pro in 2017. The two chains have more than 150 locations spread throughout the continental United States, Alaska, and Canada. In addition to selling a wide range of outdoor gear, Cabela’s also sells a large selection of gun safes.

Their brand selection ranges from Hornady and Browning to Liberty Gun Safes and Cabela’s branded safes made by Liberty. While many safes are available to view in-store, most must be ordered and drop-shipped directly from the manufacturer. All Cabela’s orders are shipped by truck with curbside delivery provided by a third party. The third party is not responsible for moving the safe inside.

Cabela’s asks customers to allow for 6-8 weeks for delivery of their safe. More time may be needed depending on the delivery schedule and the manufacturer’s schedule.

Choosing the Right Gun Safe

There’s a lot to consider when you’re shopping for a gun safe. If you’re worried about protecting your firearms from fire, you’ll want to compare fire ratings. (Word of caution: Anyone who tells you they sell ‘fireproof’ safes is blowing smoke up your who-ha. There is no such thing as a fireproof safe.)

Think you might want something a bit more discrete, like a wall safe? Curious which safes offer the best quick access gun storage solutions for personal defense. All of these questions are important to consider. They’re ones we frequently help customers answer (and have even asked ourselves).

Even if you decide to purchase your safe elsewhere, we encourage you to talk to our staff — either on the phone or in person. We can help you determine how big of a safe you need, where you can install your safe, what to consider when comparing fire ratings, and more.
