Fort Knox Safe Lifetime Warranty

Fort Knox Inc. offers a lifetime warranty* to the original purchasers of a Fort Knox Vault — ensuring that all new vaults will be free of defects in material and workmanship from the date of delivery. Integral units such as locks are subject to this same warranty.

Theft Guarantee

This lifetime warranty also guarantees that Fort Knox Inc. will replace any vault — free of charge — broken into by forced entry or damaged due to an unlawful attempt during the lifetime of the original purchaser.

Incidental Damage Protection

Any vault suffering incidental damage due to an accident, flood, or fire will be repaired or replaced by Fort Knox Inc. (at their discretion).

Limited Warranty

All Pistol Boxes, Cab Boxes, and Shotgun Boxes come with a Limited Warranty. A Lifetime Warranty protects the box. The lock is protected for 1 year by the Manufacturer's Warranty.

Unibody Construction

A single, flat piece of steel is bent into the share of the body, practically eliminating gaps and seams.

Precision Cut Type-C Fireboard

All fireboards are precisely cut for each safe to prevent heat pockets from being created during a fire.

Fully Penetrating Bead Weld

A fully-penetrating bead weld inside and out ensures a seam-free edge and maximum instructional integrity.

Fort Knox Safes Fire Protection

Fort Knox safes offer top-tier fire protection thanks to their time-tested design and premium materials, which practically eliminate door gaps and hot spots. Thick layers of steel and Type-C fireboard help maintain internal temperature, while smoke and fire seals block unwanted contaminants from entering the safe.

Security Plate — Each safe's door is equipped with a Fort Knox security plate to ensure it retains its shape when exposed to heat. Thinner safes will buckle and warp during a fire, exposing the contents to more damage. The added layer of steel also offers Fort Knox safes increased burglary protection, making it harder to cut through the safe’s door.

Smoke & Fire Seal — The door’s first layer of defense is the Smoke Seal, which keeps smoke, heat, and caustic residue at bay. The second seal is the Fire Seal, a heat-activated Palusol material that expands at 212 degrees Fahrenheit to fill any remaining minuscule door gaps.

Thermal Barrier — The welded anchors create this dead air gap between the outer wall and the Type-C Fireboard. A unique design, this subtle gap significantly slows the external transfer of heat to the interior of your safe.

Type-C Fireboard — Type-C Fireboard with Vermiculite compensates for shrinkage with an added blend of fibers that helps maintain the structure and fire resistance of the material. Unlike some manufacturers, which use common drywall or standard-cut fireboard, this precision-cut fire protection ensures your valuables are protected.

Welded Anchors — Glue melts during a fire, slumping the fireboard away from the wall and leaving your valuables vulnerable. Fort Knox secures your fireboard with Welded anchors to ensure the longevity and efficacy of your fire protection.

Amplify Your Fort Knox Safes’ Security

Fort Knox safes' heavy bodies come standard with a lot of steel. How much steel? The entry-level Fort Knox Model, a Spartan Vault, features a 3/16” body and ⅜” plate door, which is almost twice as strong as a 10-gauge steel safe.

Security Upgrades

The tinsel strength of each Fort Knox safe can be increased, making it stronger and more resistant to attacks. Customers can purchase added layers of:

• ArmaKnox AR500 Steel Package — Cover all six sides of the safe with ArmaKnox AR500 Steel — 7-gauge hardened steel plates offering a cut, drill, and ballistic-resistant barrier.

• Stainless Steel Package — Reinforce all six sides of your safe with 10-gauge stainless steel — the highest level of protection against a torch attack.

• Carbon Steel Liner — Up to four additional layers of carbon steel on all six sides, made of 10-gauge steel, will create a significant defense against burglars.

• Steel Body + Door Upgrade — Increase the steel body thickness up to ¼”. Plus, add a ⅛” steel security plate to your door. (Door upgrades are not available on all models and sizes.)

Reinforced Fire Liner (RFL)

The RFL adds another layer of Type-C fireboard on all six sides of your safe. RFL offers up to 2 hours of fire protection at 168 degrees Fahrenheit.

*RFL reduces the gun capacity. It is not available on Maverick or Spartan Models.
