AMSEC CEV6528
TL-15 Gun Safe
The most secure gun safe we offer. Commercial-grade TL-15 burglary protection and a two-hour fire rating, configured specifically for serious firearms collections.
The Safe
A true high-security safe, built around a serious firearms collection.
Most gun safes are built like residential security products first, then marketed to collectors. This is different. The AMSEC CEV6528 starts as a commercially rated TL-15 composite safe — the same type of burglary-rated construction trusted in environments like jewelry stores, dispensaries, and government facilities. Then we configured it with a custom gun interior so it works the way a firearms collector actually needs it to work.
After 38 years and more than 75,000 safe installations across the Northwest, we have seen the difference between a safe that looks impressive and a safe that is truly built for the job. This one brings commercial-level burglary resistance, real fire protection, and practical long gun storage together in one package. It is not a typical gun safe. It is what happens when you take a serious commercial safe and build the interior around a serious collection.
What TL-15 means
Tested burglary protection for collectors who need more than a standard gun safe.
Most gun safes are rated as RSCs, which stands for Residential Security Container. An RSC rating is a basic entry-level test against a short tool attack. It is not the same category as a true TL-rated high-security safe.
A TL-15 rating means Underwriters Laboratories tested the safe against a much more serious burglary attack. The "15" does not mean the safe only lasts 15 minutes in the real world, and it does not mean the entire test only lasted 15 minutes. It means the safe resisted 15 minutes of actual tool-on-safe attack time from trained UL technicians using advanced burglary tools. The full test process takes longer because the clock can stop while technicians inspect progress, change tools, reposition, and plan the next phase of attack.
That level of testing matters when the value inside the safe starts to climb. Insurance carriers often use UL burglary ratings to determine what level of safe is appropriate for jewelry, precious metals, watches, cash, and other high-value property. For example, in a commercial jewelry setting, current Jewelers Mutual guidelines show TL-15 safes may qualify for coverage up to $350,000 in value, subject to policy terms, alarm requirements, location, and underwriting approval.
The AMSEC CEV6528 is built for that environment, with 3.5-inch-thick composite sidewalls and a massive 6-inch overall composite door, including a 3-inch-thick defensive burglary barrier made with inner and outer steel plates, high-density composite material, nuggets, and steel fibers. It weighs 3,153 pounds and uses ten chrome-plated locking bolts, each measuring 1½ inches in diameter.
This is the difference between a safe that is built to look heavy and a high-security safe that has been tested to stop a real attack.
Choose Your Interior
Three configurations.
One right answer for your collection.
Select your interior when you add the safe to your cart. All three share the same exterior safe, the same TL-15 rating, and the same fire protection. The difference is how the space is organized inside.
Option 1
Standard Interior
High-strength adjustable steel shelves throughout. Full-width shelving gives you maximum flexibility to configure storage to your specific mix of long guns, handguns, and valuables.
Full 21.1 cu ft shelvedOption 2
One Slider + Shelves
One sliding long gun rack holds up to 9 rifles or shotguns. The remaining half of the interior features adjustable shelving for handguns, optics, suppressors, and documents.
Up to 9 long guns + shelf spaceOption 3 — Maximum Capacity
Two Sliders
Two sliding racks, each holding up to 9 long guns. Purpose-built for collectors with large rifle and shotgun collections who need every cubic foot dedicated to long gun storage.
Up to 18 long guns totalEach slider pulls out on a smooth track system for full access to every firearm. No reaching past the front row.
Upgrade Options
Choose your configuration
at checkout.
Every CEV6528 ships with an ESL10 electronic lock and your chosen interior. Two upgrade options are available to add when you configure your safe.
Mechanical Lock Upgrade
Upgrade from the standard ESL10 electronic lock to a UL-listed mechanical dial lock. No battery dependency. Preferred by collectors who want zero electronics near their collection.
Light Kit
Interior LED lighting illuminates the full interior. See exactly what you have and where it is without pulling items forward. A practical addition for any safe used regularly.
Dehumidifier
A moisture control rod keeps interior humidity in the safe range for long-term firearm storage. Critical in the Pacific Northwest where indoor humidity fluctuates seasonally.

Delivery & Installation
This safe weighs 3,153 lbs.
We've done this before.
Most dealers won't attempt an install like this. We've placed safes over 10,000 lbs in residential environments, run barge deliveries to properties with no road access, and done floor-cut installs where no other path existed. A 3,153-lb safe is a standard day for our team.
We handle every install ourselves—no third-party delivery crews—and we anchor the safe before we leave. Placement matters as much as the safe itself, and we've learned that across 75,000 installs.
- In-house team handles delivery and placement from start to finish
- 2nd- and 3rd-floor installs, crane placement, and floor modifications available
-
Professional safe anchoring available
- Service area covers WA, OR, ID, and MT
Common Questions
What buyers ask
before they order.
What is the difference between a TL-15 rating and an RSC rating?
RSC certification means the safe resisted a 5-minute attack using basic hand tools—hammers, chisels, and pry bars. TL-15 is a significantly higher standard: Underwriters Laboratories certified that the safe resisted 15 minutes of attack using professional-grade burglary equipment including high-speed drills and grinders. The CEV6528 is UL TL-15 certified. Most gun safes sold in the U.S. are RSC-rated only.
How does the 120-minute fire rating protect my firearms?
The CEV6528 carries an ETL-certified fire rating of 120 minutes at 1,850°F. The composite material between the inner and outer steel plates absorbs heat and limits the internal temperature rise during a fire event. The Palusol door seal expands up to 6–7 times its original size when exposed to heat, locking out smoke and flames at the door gap. A typical residential structure fire burns between 1,000 and 1,800°F and is generally contained or extinguished within 60 to 90 minutes. The 120-minute rating provides meaningful margin above what your safe is likely to experience.
Can this safe go upstairs, in a garage, or on a concrete slab?
Most residential wood-framed floors are engineered to handle 40 to 50 lbs per square foot. At 3,153 lbs across a footprint of roughly 9 square feet, the CEV6528 applies concentrated load that requires evaluation before placement on an upper floor. Our team will assess your installation location before delivery. Concrete slabs handle this weight without concern. Garage installs are common and straightforward. Contact us to discuss your specific placement before ordering.
How many firearms does the two-slider configuration actually hold?
Each slider holds up to 9 long guns, for a total of up to 18 in the two-slider configuration. Actual capacity depends on the size of your firearms—rifles with large optics or suppressors take more space than a standard sporting rifle. The 65-inch interior height accommodates most long guns standing upright without modification.
Why should I choose a mechanical lock over the standard electronic lock?
The standard ESL10 electronic lock is UL-listed and reliable for daily use. The mechanical dial lock upgrade removes all battery dependency and has no electronic components that can fail or require replacement. For a safe of this caliber that you may not open daily, many collectors prefer the mechanical option for its long-term reliability. Both lock types provide equivalent security—the choice comes down to personal preference.
Is a dehumidifier necessary in the Pacific Northwest?
Western Washington and much of the Pacific Northwest experiences extended periods of elevated indoor humidity, particularly in fall and winter. A dehumidifier rod maintains interior relative humidity below 50%, which prevents rust formation on metal surfaces and protects wood stocks and grips over long-term storage. We recommend it for anyone storing firearms they plan to keep for years without frequent rotation.

Delivery & Installation
Many big box stores only offer curbside delivery. In theory, this can seem like a really affordable option. After all, a few buddies, a case of beer, and a heavy-duty project is a great combination — right?
