High-Security TL-15 Commercial Safes
TL ratings are awarded by the Underwriters Laboratory (UL), a third-party rating agency that tests the security of safes. TL stands for “Tool Latency.” It indicates how long a safe can delay access to its contents under a tool attack.
This length of time does not include changing tools or changing out drill bits. In order for successful access to be gained, the tester must make a six square inch opening through all components of the safe’s door.
The top TL-15 safes are made by AMSEC (also known as American Security). These safes also offer 120 minutes of fire protection, thanks in large part to their extremely thick bodies and doors.
