Update 9.28.2023: Our Recommendations for Liberty Safe Alternatives

While Liberty has been the household name for decades (and continues to be for many), when it comes to quality U.S.-built safe manufacturers, there are some Liberty safe alternatives. Because we know some folks out there are looking for that specifically, our team identified the best alternative for our best selling Liberty Safes.

Update 2.25.2022: Liberty Brought Back the Franklin Series Gun Safe

We know there was a lot of lamenting over Liberty discontinuing their Franklin gun safes. So for those of you who were bummed not to get this fabulous entry-level safe, we have good news: Liberty decided to bring it back.

Liberty hasn't disclosed why they brought it back or for how long they will be manufacturing the Franklin series. But for now, we have them in-stock and ready to deliver.

In the beginning of 2021, Liberty announced their Franklin gun safes and Classic Select gun safes were being discontinued. The move came as a surprise to retailers, as both the Franklin and Classic line were reliable choices for many gun safe buyers.

We believe Liberty decided to simplify their selection in order to reduce their production backlogs. We’ve already seen how the pandemic has impacted production schedules — a trend many believe will continue. Reducing the number of options can help Liberty produce more safes overall.

But, are there high-quality gun safes that are a good alternative to the discontinued ones? Most certainly. Liberty’s American-based manufacturing plants are still producing a dependable selection of gun safes that will keep your valuables safe. Additionally, there are other manufacturers making heavy-duty safes you can count on.

Gun Safes Made in the USA

A lot of gun safe manufacturers have moved their production offices to foreign soil. This can present a myriad of potential issues, not the least of which is fewer dollars invested in the American economy.

Each of the following recommendations are gun safes made in America. We take great pride in carrying a large stock of gun safes and vault doors made in the USA.
